The Ocarina of Time Remake Looks Better Moving

If you winced at the first look at the Ocarina of Time remake, you were not alone. I winced too, and then I watched the new trailer.

Does the new look hold up? Is the voice acting any good? And who is that voice in the Ganondorf clips?

Nintendo dropped a five-minute overview trailer on 14 October, and hands-on previews landed the same day. The remake arrives on Switch 2 on 5 November. Young Link took most of the early heat, with fans calling him doll-like. Adult Link got the praise.

I think the style works because it keeps the chunky N64 shapes and just lights them properly. I've gotten used to it, and now I like it a lot. Adult Link looks good. Very good ;)... Moving on.

Everyone except Link is voiced now, and the original had no spoken lines at all. GameSpot called the acting well done, though Navi sounds older than expected. Press Any Button found some lines voiced and others subtitle only, and wondered if that was a preview quirk. The voice acting in the trailer was slightly less awkward than Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom.

Side note, I didn't see any confirmations on the Ganondorf VA, but everyone seems sure it's Matt Mercer again. The man is in everything these days.

I didn't really watch anyone's footage of the demo. I want to go in blind. Well, as blind as I can be on a 1998 game that I've already watched countless videos about. But I still haven't played it, so that counts for something, right?

Are you staying "blind" too, or watching everything you can? And have the visuals and voice acting grown on you too?
